ANNOUNCEMENT: The 2012 QPCC Annual Conference will be held in the fall of 2012 at Quaker Hill Conference Center, Richmond, Indiana. We will gather from Thursday, September 13 through Sunday, September 16. The tentative theme: Quaker Pastoral Care and The Circle of Trust (conference leader TBA). PLEASE SAVE THE DATE.
The 2011 conference was held from April 7 to 10. Anne Beaufort led us in journaling and creative expression as a spiritual practice in a time of "Writing and Art to Reach the Soul." For more information, click on the Annual Conference Link.
Quakers in Pastoral Care and Counseling has come through a transition from a ministry of Earlham School of Religion to a free-standing, self-governing organization. We hope that all Friends who are involved in aspects of pastoral care (whether professional chaplains, members of Ministry & Counsel, or practitioners of alternative healing modalities) or counseling (whether psychotherapists, social workers, psychologists, other mental health professionals, spiritual directors, or administrators) will become part of QPCC as we continue to change and grow.
Of special importance to our members since QPCC began is our annual conference. There are at least two good reasons to come.
- First, you'll find much more than a professional conference. Most
of us experience a sense of belonging that we seldom find in our
day-to-day professional lives. The conference can be a time of
connection and deep refreshment, as well as stimulation and professional
development.
- Second, for members who need CEUs, the conference
is a wonderful opportunity to obtain hours in an atmosphere that is
congruent with your beliefs and sense of call.
We would love to welcome you as a member. To read about the benefits and find out how to join, click on Membership.
